What data this website collects
We keep things simple. This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising. The only personal data we ever receive is the email address you choose to give us when you sign up for our newsletter.
Visitor statistics
To understand which pages people enjoy, we use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly counting service. It counts visits without cookies and without building profiles of individual visitors, and we only ever see anonymous totals, such as how many people viewed a page. Newsletter
Our newsletter signup form is provided by MailerLite (MailerLite Limited, Dublin, Ireland). When you subscribe, your email address is stored with MailerLite and used only to send you our newsletter. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address from our list. You can read more in the MailerLite privacy policy.
Hosting
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (San Francisco, USA). Like almost every web host, Netlify processes technical server logs when you visit a page. These logs can include your IP address, browser type, and the time of your visit, and they are used to deliver the site securely and reliably. You can read more in the Netlify privacy policy.
Fonts
This website loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which means your IP address is transmitted to Google. You can read more in the Google privacy policy.
TikTok
Our homepage shows our latest TikTok videos using TikTok's own embed player. When that part of the page loads, your browser connects to TikTok's servers (TikTok Technology Limited, Dublin, Ireland), which means your IP address is transmitted to TikTok, and TikTok may set cookies or collect usage data of its own. Links to other websites
Our books are sold through Amazon, and the buy buttons on this website take you to Amazon's own pages. Once you leave our site, the privacy policy of the site you visit applies.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Since the only data we hold is a newsletter email address, the quickest route is usually the unsubscribe link, but you are always welcome to email us at bilingualstorybookland@gmail.com and we will take care of it.
Children
Our books are written for children, but this website is meant for the grown-ups who buy them. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children.
